Reed Rankin

Creative Director / President

Reed’s 40-year career includes experience in graphic arts, animation, motion picture and still photography, and stage lighting. While at Litelab Corporation in New York in 1977, Reed specified the disco lighting and dance floor used in the movie “Saturday Night Fever”, as well as special lighting design for an episode of Ryan's Hope for ABC. He toured with the Maynard Ferguson Orchestra for two years as lighting designer and stage manager, and also conceived the design for Maynard’s “New Vintage” album cover. 

As a stand up comic for 25 years, Reed appeared at the Montreal Comedy Festival, on A&E’s Evening at the Improv, and opened concert shows for Jay Leno, Dennis Miller, Howie Mandel, Natalie Cole, Huey Lewis and the News, and the Doobie Brothers. He is retired from the stage and now directs his creative energy toward writing and producing customized shows for his clients.

Reed joined RPM in 1998 expanding RPM’s creative capabilities and video production services. In the spring of 2004, he became the owner and president. He acts as Creative Director, writes and directs video production, supervises scenic and graphic design, and directs live productions.
